Bangladesh emerged as the champions of the 7th South Asia (SA) Hakukai Karate Championship bagging eight gold medals, one silver medal, one bronze medal at Mirat in India recently.
Hosts Inidia became runners-up of the competition, while Nepal finished third in the meet.
All India Karate Association arranged the karate championship.
Bangladesh Karate team consists of ten karatekas.
The official are: Moazzem Hossain Sentoo (Coach), Major Bhumeuddin (Manager), Md Yasin (Assistant Manager) Sheikh Ali Ahsan Badal (Team Leader).
A total of eight teams of South Asia took part in the karate meet.
Bangladesh Karate team will return home today from India.
