State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan said that Bangladesh is interested in curbing transnational crime and cyber crime with the support and cooperation of police departments of different countries.
He said this while addressing the 83rd annual general conference of the Interpol in Monaco Tuesday, according to a release received here Wednesday.
The Interpol organized the meeting on – A Century of Collectively Combating Transnational Crime, which was attended by the member states of the international police organization.
The minister sought cooperation of the members for Bangladesh police so that its members can attend modern training courses to be acquainted with modern policing system.
“Bangladesh achieved top position for sending the highest number of policemen to the United Nations Peace Keeping Missions to establish peace and Bangladesh police contributed earning good name,” Asaduzzaman told the meeting.
Among others, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hasan Mahmood Khandker, Additional Secretary of Home Ministry Dr Kamal Uddin Talukder, Deputy Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, Assistant Inspector General of Police M Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan and Additional Superintendent of Police Montasirul Islam joined the Interpol meeting.
