Bangladesh-CSA Invitation XI match ends in draw

The three-day warm-up match between Bangladesh and Cricket South Africa (CSA) Invitation XI ended in a tame draw on the third and final day at Benoni in South Africa on Saturday.
Electing to bat first, Bangladesh piled up a satisfactory 306 for the loss of seven wickets in the first innings and then declared their innings on the first day (Thursday).
In reply, South Africa declared their first innings scoring 313 for the loss of eight wickets on the second day (Friday).
Later, Bangladesh declared their second innings making 235 for the loss of nine wickets on the third day (Saturday).
Bangladesh resumed their second innings with the over-night score of six for the loss of none.
Opener Imrul Kayes was on 4 and Liton Das was on two before the bails were drawn for the second day.
Later, Liton Das (2) failed to add any score on the third day as he was caught by Valli of Bokako when Bangladesh’s score was nine for the loss of one wicket.
Then Imrul Kayes and Mominul Haque salvaged their team from debacle contributing together 71 runs for the second wicket stand before Imrul Kayes was caught behind by wicketkeeper Klaasen off Cohen when the visitors’ total was 80 for the loss of two wickets.
Kayes hit a marvelous 51 from 54 balls featuring seven fours and a sixer.
After departure of Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim could stay at the crease for a short period as he was dismissed for just three runs when the tourists’ score was 91 for the loss of three wickets.
After dismissal of Kayes, Mominul Haque was trapped leg before wicket by Berg when the tourists’ total was 96 for the loss of four wickets.
Mominul Haque hit a polished 33 from 38 balls including six fours.
Later, Mahmudullah Riyad and Sabbir Rahman built another notable partnership. They put on together 52 runs in the fifth wicket stand before Mahmudullah was dismissed by Plooy for 15 when the Tigers’ total 148 for the loss of five wickets.
After Mahmudullah departure, Sabbir Rahman and Mehedi Hasan Miraz added together 30 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Miraz (14) was caught behind by Klaasen of Plooy when Bangladesh’s score was 178 for the loss of six wickets.
Sabbir Rahman top-scored with 67. His 98-ball innings was laced with eight fours.
Sabbir was bowled by Berg when the touring side’s score was 200 for the loss of seven wickets.
Tail-ender Shafiul Islam was dismissed for a duck. Taijul Islam was bowled by Berg when Bangladesh’s total was 223 for the loss of nine wickets.
Taskin Ahmed and Subashis Roy remained unbeaten with 15 and 3 runs respectively.
Berg of South Africa was the most successful bowler with four wickets at the cost of 77 runs.
Plooy bagged a couple of wickets for 51 runs. Bokako, Pretorius, Cohen got one wicket apiece.
