Sports Reporter :
Bangladesh Cricket team reached the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday to play two warm-up matches against Sri Lanka and Ireland. The players, however, have to take a one-day quarantine at the team hotel on Monday.
Meanwhile, ‘Cutter Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman reached at the team hotel in the UAE. Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will join the Bangladesh squad after completing his Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign.
Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan left Dhaka for the UAE in the middle of the September to play in the IPL. Shakib Al Hasan is playing for Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand, Mustafizur Rahman played for Rajasthan Royals.
As Rajasthan Royals were ousted from the title race of the IPL, so Mustafizur Rahman has no barrier to play the warp-up matches for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka and Ireland. Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the first warm-up match on October 12 in the UAE, while the red-and-green outfit will face Ireland in the second warm-up match on October 14 in the UAE.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their Eliminator match today. If they win the match, they will play in the Qualifier match. If they win their Qualifier match they will play in the final. In that case, Bangladesh team will play the warm-up matches without Shakib Al Hasan. On the other hand, if KKR lose to RCB in today’s match, Shakib will have no barrier to play the two warm-up matches for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh will return to Oman from the UAE on October 15. After that, Bangladesh will start their ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers mission. Bangladesh will take on Scotland on October 17, face Oman on October 19 and meet Papua New Guinea on October 21. If Bangladesh qualify for the final round, Bangladesh will go to the UAE to play their final phase.
