Bangladesh contingent for 5th CW Youth Games leaves for Samoa today

A 14-member Bangladesh contingent will leave here for Samoa on Wednesday noon by a flight of Malaysian Airlines to participate in the 5th Commonwealth Youth Games scheduled for Sept 5-11.
Vice-president of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) M Mizanur Rahman Manu will lead the Bangladesh team as chef de-mission.
Bangladesh will compete in five disciplines of sports — Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Swimming and Squash.
Boxer Robin Miah will carry the Bangladesh flag in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Youth Games.
Bangladesh participated in the Commonwealth Youth Games for the first time in Pune in 2008 when Bangladeshi weightlifter Fahima Akhter Moyna clinched a bronze medal.

Mizanur Rahman Minu (Chef-De-Mission)
Archery: M Tamimul Islam (Recurve-singles, mixed), Nondini Khan Swapna (Recurve- singles and mixed) and M Sajjad Hossain (Coach).
Athletics: SK Ashrafuzzaman (100 meter sprint), Tamanna Akhter (100, 200 meter sprint), Mahbuba Hossain Belly (coach).
Boxing: M Rakib Sheikh (56 kgs), M Robin Miah (52 kgs), Syed Mohiuddin Ahmed (Coach)
Squash: Saiful Miah (singles, doubles), Rakin Aziz (doubles),
Swimming: M Ariful Islam (100 & 50 meters breaststroke, 50 meter freestyle); Suraiya Akhter Chumki (50 meter back stroke & 50 meter freestyle).
