Special Olympics: Bangladesh clinch 12 gold, 11 silver, 8 bronze medals

Bangladesh clinched 12 gold, 11 silver and eight bronze medals in the Special Olympics Summer World Games 2015 concluded in Los Angeles, United States on Sunday.
Out of the 25 disciplines, an 80-member Bangladesh contingent took part in six -athletics, swimming, badminton, football, table tennis and bocce–in the games participated by 170 countries in the world, according to a message received here Sunday.
Bangladesh team clinched three gold, five silver, three bronze medals in athletics, four gold in badminton, two gold in bocce, one silver in football, one gold, four silver, five bronze in swimming and two gold, one silver in table tennis.
Gold medalists of Bangladesh team: Parul Akter (swimming, 100-metre freestyle); Sumon Khan (athletics, 4-kg shot put); Sharnali Akhter Sweety (athletics-long jump), 4×100 relay team (Sumon, Shamsuddin and Haider); Mohammad Abdul Kader Soron (Badminton, singles & doubles), Rezwanrul Haque (Badminton, singles & doubles), Ahsan Habib ( badminton, unified doubles), Jakia Sultana (bocce, singles), Shahnaz Ahmed, unified doubles) and Mohammad Nayemur Rahman (table tennis. singles).
