After an emphatic win over New Zealand by 8 wickets, Bangladesh haved moved up in the points table of the World Test Championship (WTC). The Tigers have risen to the top five of the updated points table till January 5. Bangladesh had built a 130-run lead before their first innings folded for 458 on Tuesday with half-centuries from Mominul Haque (88), Liton Das (86), Mahmudul Hasan Joy (78) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (64). The Kiwis were bowled out for 169 in the second innings and 328 in the first innings. Bangladesh needed only 40 runs to win the first Test of the series. Mominul’s team easily surpassed the target, losing 2 wickets.
