GM Ziaur Rahman (Rating-2523) split points with former world runner-up GM Vassily Ivanchuk (Rating-2744) while GM Abdullah Al Rakib (Rating-2522) drew with former world chess champion GM Ruslan Ponomariov (Rating-2717) of Ukraine.
GM Enamul Hossain Razib lost to GM Pavel Eljanov (Rating-2723) while Niaz Murshed (Rating-2453) lost to GM Alexander Moiseenko (Rating-2707) of Ukraine.
