Uttar Baridhara to play Police AC in opener: Bangladesh Championship League begins today

The 4th Bangladesh Championship Football League to be known as “Minister Freeze Bangladesh Championship League 2014-15” will kick off today (Thursday) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here with Uttar Baridhara Club taking on Bangladesh Police AC in the opener at 4pm.
Eight metropolis teams will participate in the 2nd tier of the Professional Football League at Bangabandhu National Stadium and at the Artificial Turf of Bir Shrestha Sepoy Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalpaur.
Participating teams are: Uttar Baridhara Club, Agrani Bank SC, Arambagh KS, Victoria SC, Wari Club, Youngmen’s Club Fakirerpool, T&T Club Motijheel and Bangladesh Police AC.
In the remaining first round matches, Agrani Bank SC will meet T&T Club, Motijheel on Friday (Nov 27), Arambagh KS will face Youngmen’s Club Fakirerpool on Saturday (Nov 28) while Victoria SC will encounter Wari Club on Sunday (Nov 29), all at 3pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The first round of the league will be held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium while the remaining matches will be held at the Artificial Turf of Bir Shrestha Sepoy Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur.
All eight participating clubs will receive appearance money of Tk 5 lakh each. The champion team will get prize money of Tk 5 lakh while the runners-up team will receive Tk 3 lakh.
Top two teams of the league will be promoted to Bangladesh Premier League while the bottom team will be relegated.
