Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Tamim Iqbal is cautious that West Indies can fight back in the third One Day International (ODI) match of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-West Indies series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today. The match begins at 11.30am. State-owned television channel Bangladesh Television (BTV), private satellite sports channel T Sports, private satellite channel Nagorik TV will telecast the match live from the stadium.
Tamim said they need to collect 10 points from the last ODI match too to take their position in the top of the ICC ODI Super League point table.
Bangladesh had already won the three-match ODI series. Bangladesh thrashed West Indies by six wickets in the first ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Dhaka on January 20. Then the home side crushed the touring side by seven wickets in the second ODI at the same venue on January 22.
Tamim Iqbal said, “We won the series and we want to get more 10 points.”
Tamim said, “West Indies couldn’t play well in the first two ODI matches but they are dangerous team and can fight back in the last ODI match.”
Bangladesh are going to make few changes to the side for the third ODI in Chattogram, He said adding that those who will get chance are capable of winning the last ODI.
He said, ” Tomorrow’s match is very important. We won the series but we want to get more 10 points.”
The ODI captain said, “I am sure there is room for improvement. We can improve in bowling and fielding. In batting, we had got good start but we couldn’t carry on. So we have to improve in those departments.”
He said, “There is the ICC ODI Super League and if we want to have a direct entry to the World Cup, improvement in every department is must. We have to play at foreign soil and it is always tougher to play in different conditions. So we have to ensure that we can make all things perfect in International match.”
