Bangladesh blank Maldives in SAFF Women’s Champ

Bangladesh Women’s Football team blanked Maldives Women’s Football team by three goals to nil in their Group-A match of the SAFF Women’s Championship at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal on Wednesday. All the three goals were scored in the first half.
Sabina Khatun of Bangladesh put her team ahead in the 32nd minute of the match by a forceful shot just outside the D-box. After two minutes, Masura Parveen doubled the margin for red-and-green outfit.
Sabina sealed the fate of the match in the 40th minute of the game.
After the breather, Bangladesh Women failed to increase the tally.
Sabina Khatun sent the ball into the blank net but the referee cancelled the goal as Sabina was marked by off-side.
In the second half Shamsunnahar was replaced by Sanjida and Tahura Khatun was replaced by Sirat Jahan, but Bangladesh failed to raise the difference.
Earlier, Bangladesh defeated Maldives by six goals to nil in their SAFF Women’s Championship in India in 2016.
 Meanwhile, India Women’s Football team beat Pakistan Women’s team in the other Group-A match.
Bangladesh and India bagged three points each from one match.
