bdnews24.com :’Bangladeshi’ immigration is likely to be the single biggest issue ahead of 2016 state assembly elections in Assam.Anticipating the popular mood, the Assam unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already started playing up this issue.The state’s regional party Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is also hoping to cash in on the issue of Bangladeshi migration by basing its election campaign on it.Former minister and now BJP leader Chandra Mohan Patowary, while addressing a gathering in Chamta in his constituency Dharmapur said entire Assam is now filled with Bangladeshis, posing an existential threat to all indigenous people of Assam, besides creating problems for the original Assamese Muslims.Patowary went on to claim that only BJP and the BJP government will work for Assam and the Assamese community.He said that, people should vote for a BJP government in Assam so that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bangladeshi problem can be completely rooted out.
