Asia Cup Hockey: Bangladesh beat Oman 5-4

Bangladesh beat Oman by 5-4 goals in their group-B 2nd match of the 8th Junior Asia Cup (Men) Hockey in Kuantan city, Malaysia on Sunday.
Bangladesh dominated the first half by 4-2 goals.
Ashraful Islam who was adjudged man of the match scored two goals for Bangladesh. Ashraful made his first goal by a penalty stroke in the 11th minute while the 2nd one was a field goal in the 38th.
Roman Sarkar scored a field goal in the 4th minutes to be the Bangladesh’s first scorer. Arshad Hossain and Mohammad Emon Deen scored one field goal each in the 4th, 16th and 25th minutes respectively.
Mohammed Al Lawati scored two field goals for Oman in the 3rd amd 20th minutes. Khalid Al Batashi scored one field goal in the 38th minute while Ammaar Al Shaaibi scored a penalty corner goal in the 56th minutes.
Before the meet, Bangladesh targeted to beat at least one team in the meet and achieved the target beating Oman in the day’s match.
In the remaining group match, Bangladesh will face giant South Korea hockey team at 2:30pm (Bangladesh time) at the same venue on Tuesday.
In the opening day match Bangladesh lost Pakistan by 1-3 goals.
Earlier, Bangladesh was placed in pool-B in the eight-nation meet with Pakistan, Oman and South Korea while pool-A comprises host Malaysia, India, Japan and China.
