Bangladesh beat Oman by 2-1 goals in their second Group-B match of the Hero Asia Cup Hockey at Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia on Tuesday. After beating Oman, Bangladesh took a sweet revenge.
Earlier, Bangladesh lost to Oman by 6-2 goals in the final of the Asian Games Hockey Qualifiers at Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand recently.
Bangladesh started their Hero Asia Cup Hockey campaign with an unhappy note as they lost to South Korea, the powerhouse of world hockey by 1-6 goals in their first Group-B match on May 23.
Ashraful Islam of Bangladesh put his team ahead using a penalty corner in the 6th minute of the match.
Al Fajari Rashed of Oman leveled the margin in the 17th minute of the clash.
Mohammad Rakibul of Bangladesh broke the dead-lock capitalizing a penalty corner in the 40th minute of the match.
Bangladesh will face Malaysia in their third and last Group-B match at the same venue on May 26.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups are taking part in the Hero Asia Cup Hockey, the most prestigious hockey meet of Asia.
Bangladesh, Oman, South Korea, Malaysia are in Group-B, while India, Pakistan, Japan, Indonesia are in Group-A.
