Bangladesh finished their ICC T20 World Cup preparation with a 44-run victory over Ireland in their second and last warm-up match held on Friday at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Chasing Bangladesh massive 179 runs, Ireland found the chase stiff and restricted at 135 for 8 from their stipulated 20 overs.
Skipper William Porterfield top scored with 44 runs while middle order batsman Stuart Thompson added 35 for Ireland.
Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza bagged two wickets apiece giving away 13 and 28 runs respectively while Al Amin Hossain, Mahmudullah, Sohag Gazi and Abdur Razzak took one wick each for the Tigers.
Earlier, skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan hammered a blistering unbeaten half centuries saw Bangladesh pile up a massive total of 179 for 3 from their allotted 20 overs, after Bangladesh opted to bat first.
Skipper Mushfiq smashed 59 runs off 30 balls hitting eight boundaries and two over boundaries while Shakib Al Hasan cracked 58 runs off 32 balls with the help of seven boundaries and one over boundary.
Paul Stirling, Andy McBrine and George Dockrell bagged one wicket each for the Irish.
Bangladesh will open their play Afghanistan in their opening qualifying round match of the ICC T20 World Cup to be held on Sunday (Mar 16) at the Sher-e- Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
