Elections to the Bangladesh Bar Council, the country’s governing body of lawyers, will be held on May 25.
In a statement signed by Bar Council Chairman and Attorney General AM Amin Uddin on Saturday announced the schedule of the election, said a press release.
According to the schedule, nomination papers will be submitted from March 28 to April 4, scrutiny of nomination papers
will be held from April 11 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be from 4 pm of April 15.
A total of 14 members are electing to the Bar Council for three years.
The state’s chief legal officer and attorney general is ex-officio chairman of the Bar Council.
Through this election, about 50,000 lawyers from all over the country will elect their representatives for three years.
