Bangladesh will kick off their second round of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifying campaign against Afghanistan away on September 10 this year but BFF in principal expressed over the security there and opted not to play Afghanistan’s home venue at Ghazi National Olympic Stadium in Kabul.
Afghanistan have not played their home international matches at their own land in the last few years, except a friendly against Palestine in August last year.
Bangladesh have been placed alongside Oman, India, Afghanistan and Qatar following the draw for the second round of Asian Qualifiers held last month at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Bangladesh national football team, placed in Group E, will get to play these aforementioned opponents over the next one year in their second-round joint qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup and China 2023 Asian Cup.
