Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said that Bangladesh has set an example in the world by establishing inter-community coherence in the country.
“Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman led the nation to form a non-communal Bangladesh. The government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina believes in amity among the religions of the state… There is no place for communism here”, a release here quoted him saying that.
Hasan made the remarks on Saturday while addressing as the chief guest at two different functions- the puja ceremony of Gulshan-Banani Sarbajanin Puja Sangha and the inauguration of the ‘Shubho Mahalaya’ programme arranged by the Sanatan Samaj Sangha at Farmgate, here.
Hasan said, “Our flag bears the symbol of the blood of three million people of all religions, in exchange of which we achieved our freedom… We are Bengalis first, then Hindu-Muslim-Buddhist or Christians”.
He urged everyone to come forward united for developing the nation, holding the Bengali nationhood upwards.
