Sports Reporter :
After making a heroic, historic draw with Pakistan in the First Test in Khulna on May 2, highly spirited Bangladesh will face Pakistan in the 2nd and final Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today. The match will start at 10.00 am (Bangladesh Time). Bangladesh Television and Gazi Television will telecast the match live everyday.
Shahadat Hossain will be the replacement of injured Rubel Hossain in Bangladesh’s XI. The big decision is whether to pick the defensive option of a batting allrounder – Shuvagata Hom – or the more attacking one of a leg-spinner – Jubair Hossain. Mohammad Shahid could play his Second Test after impressing the senior players.
Pakistan’s bowlers struggled to take wickets in the second innings in Khulna. Wahab Riaz, the leader of the attack and the only bowler to trouble Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes, needs to step up for Pakistan and be the difference between the sides in Mirpur. Captain of Bangladesh team Mushfiqur Rahim said, “This is a final match. They will certainly try to win. We shall also try that. We shall try to pick up 20 wickets of our opponents. We are prepared to take the challenge. Everybody is ready to play for five days. Hoping that we shall win the series.”
Captain of Pakistan team Misbah-ul-Haq said, “Players of Bangladesh are playing good. We shall try to give our best. We have to work hard. Hoping that a positive result will be done in this match.”
