Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in the first Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong today. The first game starts at 9.30 am. GTV will telecast the match live from the Stadium.
Captain of Bangladesh team Mahmudullah Riyad said, ” I did not want leadership in this way. Shakib Al Hasan is very important player for us. We shall miss him. He is a top-class player. However, we are motivated to do something well tomorrow.”
Riyad said, ” I shall try my level best to encourage my teammates. We shall try to give something well to Bangladesh cricket. This is our responsibility and also duty.”
He said, ” To lead a team in the field, a captain has to take some vital decisions during the match. A captain has to take decisions with cool brain. I used to take decisions in cool brain when I took part in the domestic cricket competitions.”
Captain of Sri Lanka team Dinesh Chandimal said, ” The Test is a different format. I think the Test match will be challenging for both teams. We have experienced bowlers like Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera. I hope that the two-Test series will be an extra-ordinary series.”
He said, ” Bangladesh are performing well in Test cricket here. We have come here to play competitive cricket. To earn good result will be challenging for both teams.”
