Police arrested an aide to Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai, executed second-in-command of banned Islamist militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), from Binnakori area in Muktagachha upazila on Tuesday morning.
The arrestee was identified as Garib Ullah Akand, second-in-command of the executed JMB kingpin.
Officer-in-Charge of Muktagachha Police Station Fazlul Karim said tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Akand in the morning. The arrestee was wanted in four cases filed with the police station under the Explosives Act, the OC added.
