The historic Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibor Rahman was observed in Bagerhat town and it’s all the nine Upazilas in a befitting manner on Monday.
Marking the day, Bagerhat District Unit of Bangladesh Awami League and its all the front organizations chalked out elaborate programmes earlier to celebrate the in a befitting manner.
The programme included hoisting of national flag and party flag atop the party offices, placing of floral wreaths at the portraits of Bangabandhu and holding Doa Mahfil seeking salvation of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his family-members. A discussion meeting on the importance of the day was also held in the district Awami League Office at Rail Road with Adv. Farid Uddin, Vice-president of the district Awami League in the chair.
Adv. Bhuiya Hemayet Uddin, General Secretary (GS), Sardar Fakre Alam Saheb, Joint Secretary, AL leaders, Information and Research Secretary, Sadia Afroz, leader of Bagerhat Poura Mahila Awami League, Tania Khatun, Mahila Awami League leaders Shaikh Baschu and others addressed the meeting among others.
Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent reports : Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic Homecoming Day was celebrated in Ishwardi on Monday . The national and party flags were hoisted at the Awami League Office and a wreath was laid at the portrait of the Father of the Nation.
The Chief Guest was Alhaj Nuruzzaman Biswas, Member of Parliament for Pabna-4 constituency. Along with the national anthem, flags of national, party and organ organizations were hoisted. Leaders and workers of Upazila and Municipal Awami League, Juba League, Chhatra League and Swechchhasebak League were present at the time.
After hoisting the flag, a wreath was laid at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Among others, Upazila Awami League President and Upazila Chairman Alhaj Naib Ali Biswas, General Secretary and former Mayor Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, Municipal Awami League General Secretary and Mayor Ishaq Ali Malitha, Awami League Leader Bir Muktijoddha Mohammad Rashidullah, Prof Akram Hossain, Upazila Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Khan , Atiya Ferdous Kakli, convener of Swechchhasebak League Masud Rana, Joint Convener Sajib Malitha, Upazila President of Juba League Shirhan Sharif Tamal, General Secretary of Municipal Juba League Ariful Islam Liton, President of Upazila Chhatra League Rakibul Hasan Rony and General Secretary Sumon Das and others were present there..
Baraigram (Natore) Correspondent adds: Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day was celebrated in Baraigrma of Natore on the initiative of Baraigram Upazila and Municipal Awami League. On the day, wreaths were laid at the mural of Bangabandhu at Bonpara bypass, national and party flags were hoisted in the morning. Also, a procession and discussion meeting was organized in the afternoon on Monday at the Bonpara Bus Stand under the chairmanship of Upazila Awami League President Abdul Quddus Miaji. It was conducted by Upazila Awami League Secretary Adv. Mizanur Rahman. Member of Parliament (MP) of Natore-4 constituency Prof. Abdul Quddus was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting. Bonpara Municipal Mayor KM Zakir Hossain and Natore District A-League Vice President Adv. AKM Shahjahan Kabir, Education and Human Development Secretary Principal Abdur Razzak Mollah, Member Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, Former Vice President of Baraigram Upazila A’League Principal SM Asad-uz-Zaman, Former Joint General Secretary Lecturer Moazzem Hossain Bablu spoke in the meeting.
