The 12th meeting of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee was held.
The committee arranged the meeting at the International Mother Language Institute in the city on Tuesday with Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque in the chair.
The meeting was arranged for discussing preparations to organise the closing ceremony of the birth centenary and the golden jubilee function of independence, said a press release.
At the beginning of the meeting, Chief Coordinator of the committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury presented the outlines of the birth centenary closing ceremony and golden jubilee of victory function to be held at the south plaza of Jatiya Sangsad on December 16-17. The theme of the event will be ‘Great Hero of Great Victory’.
He said there was also a plan to arrange another event at Tungipara of Gopalganj with the theme – ‘Fatherland in the Heart of Tungipara’.
Due to the SSC and HSC examinations, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina instructed to hold this event in a convenient time in January next, Chowdhury said.
