Chattogram District Administration, different political parties and socio-cultural organisations have chalked out various programmes to mark the 100th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day yesterday.
The programmes includes children rally, placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, cultural function, discussion, drawing competition and poetry recitation.
On the occasion, Chattogram District Administration organised day-long programmes at local circuit house, District Shilpakola Academy and Shisu Academy.
Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Ilias Hossain and leaders of different cultural organisations will place wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Shilpakola Academy.
A children and adolescent rally was brought out from circuit house premises.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) also organised various programme at DC hill premises and Abdus Sattat auditorium of CCC tomorrow.
Chattogram City Unit of Awami League (AL) also organised a children and adolescent rally in front of central Shaheed Minar yesterday morning.
Chattogram city AL paid tributes to the architect of the nation by placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at city’s Darul Fazal Market party office.
Chattogram North and South District Units of AL also arrange separate children rallies and discussion meetings on the occasion.
Apart from it, separate discussion meetings also held at all educational institutions in the city and district under the auspices of respective authorities.
District Shishu Academy organised drawing competition, poetry recitation and cultural functions for children throughout the day.
Marking the day, Bangladesh Chhatra League units in all educational institutions in the city including Chattogram University, Chattogram Medical College, Chattogram University of Engineering Technology (CUET), University of Science and Technology in Chattogram and Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University arranged discussion meetings on the life and works of Bangabandhu.
Another reports adds: Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University(CVASU) arrange a grand rally on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day, Prof Dr. Gautam Buddha Das Vice-chancellor of CVASU, led the rally , children, teenagers, students, teachers, officials and employees Participate in the rally.
Later Prof. Dr. Gautam Buddha Das. Vice Chancellor along with other teachers’ associations, officers’ associations, employees union, progressive teachers’ forum, different faculty of the university, hall and organization paid tribute to Bangabandhu Murthal.
After Placing the tribute, the VC and other teachers with children Cut the Cake.
Others events was ‘Children’s Day’ ,children’s lecture contest, ‘special prayers and Milad’ on ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’ and ‘Childhood of Bangabandhu’.
Vice-Chancellor of the University distributed the prizes among the winners of the competition.
