The 98th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed in Narsingdi district on Saturday with due respect and festivity.
To mark the =Day, District Administration chalked out elaborate programmes including rally ,discussion meeting, cultural function, essay and drawing competition for the children and special prayers.
A large rally led by Deputy Commissioner Sayeda Farhana Kawnine paraded from Deputy Commissioner’s office premises to Shilpakala Academy.
Then a discussion meeting was held under the auspice of district administration at local Shilpakala Academy. Deputy Commissioner Narsingdi Sayeda Farhana Kawnine addressed the discussion as chief guest with Abrar Tahsin (a child of Shishu academy) in the chair.
Police Super Narsingdi Shaifullah al Mamun BPM, PPM, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sultana, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Shaiful Islam, Former Principals of Narsingdi Government College Professor Surja Kantha Das, Mohammad Ali, Golam Mostafa Miah, District Muktijuddah Comondar Abdul Motaleb Pathen and Convenor oof Narsingdi Press club Nibaron Roy among others addressed.
The Deputy Commissioner paid great tribute to the Father of the Nation and called upon the children to build up themselves as honest citizen of the country for materializing the dream of the Bangabandhus’ ‘Sonar Bangla’. He said father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman first envisaged country’s independence and shaped his dream as well through life long struggle. He established National Child Day for the welfare of the children.. He also said the ideology of Bangabundhu could not be erased by killing him as he would remain alive in the heart in the people of Bangladesh forever.
Chapainawabganj Correspondent reports: Law maker of Chapainawabganj Sadar constituency Md. Abdul Wadud said people of this country took part in the liberation war in 1971 at the call of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said this while speaking as chief guest in a discussion meeting arranged by Chapainawabganj Polytechnic Institute at its premises in observance of the 99th birth day of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day-2018.
It was held with the principal of the institute Engineer Humayn Kabir Khan in the chair. Among others, freedom fighter Habibur Rahman Master, president of Chapainawabganj municipality unit of AL Shariful Alam, chairman of Baroghoria UP Abul Khayer, chief instructor Shahidul Islam and chief of RAC department Abdul Malek spoke on the occasion.
The law maker said, the independence of Bangladesh was achieved in exchange of the lives of 30 lakh people and the chastity of 2 lakh women. The new generation must know the real history of the country as they are the future of the country, he added. 99th birth day of the father of nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day-2018 was celebrated in a befitting manner in Chapainawabganj.
Saidpur (Nilphamari) Correspondent adds :The 98th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed in Saidpur through various programmes on Saturday. The colorful rally started from Saidpur Pilot High School with the participation of upazila administration, teachers and students of different educational institutions moved round the whole town.
Saidpur Upazila Chairman Moksedul Momin, Saidpur UNO b Bazlur Rashid, former Mayor of Saidpur Municipality Akhtar Hossain Badal, OC of Saidpur Police Station Shahjahan Pasha, Acting President of Municipal Awami League Rafiqul Islam Babu, General Secretary Mozammel Haque, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Noorunnahar Shahjadi, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Md. Sirajul Islam and People from all walks of life took part in the rally and spoke at the program.
BSS from Netrakona adds: The 99th birth day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day-2018 was observed here on Saturday in a befitting manner.
Different socio-cultural and political organizations, including Awami League, professional groups and educational institutions, chalked out various programmes marking the day.
To celebrate the occasion, Netrakona district administration took a daylong elaborate programme.
The day’s programme began in the morning with placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the Mukto Moncha on the premises of District Shilpakala Academy here.
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, MP, led a cross section of people in paying homage to Bangabandhu through placing wreaths at the portrait of the great leader.
Netrakona Deputy Commissioner Main-UL-Islam, chairman of Netrakona Zila Parishad Prasanta Kumar Ray, Additional Police Super AKM Ashraful Alam and leaders of different socio-cultural and political organizations and professional groups including president of district Awami League (AL) Motiur Rahman Khan and General Secretary Ashraf Ali Khan Kashru followed the deputy minister.
