The 95th birth anniversary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Children’s Day was observed in the port city with brisk preparations and National Children’s Day in the city as elsewhere in the district.
Chittagong District Administration, different political parties and socio-cultural organizations chalked out elaborate programmes to mark the day with more significantly.
The daylong programmes include children rally, placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, cultural function, discussion meeting, drawing competition and poetry recitation.
On the occasion, Chittagong District Administration organised day-long programmes at District Shilpakola Academy.
Deputy Commissioner Mezbah Uddin and leaders of different cultural organisations placed wreaths at portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Shilpakola Academy. A children and adolescent rally brought out from Shilphakala academy premises.
Chittagong City Unit of Awami League (AL) and its front organizations also organised a children and adolescent rally in front of Darul Fazal Market Awami League office in the morning yesterday. .
