Bangabandhu’s 96th birthday observed

The 96th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed in Narsingdi district with due respect and festivity.
To mark the day ,District Administration chalked out elaborate programmes including rally ,discussion meeting, cultural function, essay and drawing competition for the children and special prayers
A large rally led by Deputy Commissioner Abu Hena Morshed Zaman paraded from local Circuit house to Shilpakala Academy.
After the rally a discussion meeting was held under the auspice of District Administration at local Shilpakala Academy.
State Minister for Water Resources LT Colonel (Retd) Nazrul Islam Hiro (BirPratik) addressed the discussion as chief guest with Mahedi Hassan a student of Narsingdi Biam Zilla school in the chair
Local parliament member (Reserve seats) Rahima Aktar, Deputy Commissioner Abu Hena Morshed Zaman ,Police Super Narsingdi Amena Begum,Civil Surgeon Putul Roy, Chief Executive of Zila parishd Abdul Kader and Narsingdi Pourashava Mayor Kamruzzaman Kamrul were also present in the function as special guests and addressed.
BSS from Narayanganj says: Discussants at a meeting here today paid glowing tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and demanded the governments to bring back the six fugitive convicts who are at large abroad and put them to gallows.
Narayanganj Rifle Club organized the discussion on “Chironjib Bangabandhu” marking the 96th birth day of Bangabandhu and National Children’s Day at the club.
With deputy commissioner Anisur Rahman Miah in the chair, it was addressed, among others, by BKMEA President AKM Salim Osman, MP, AKM Shamim Osman, MP, and Liaqat Hossain Khoka, MP, Administrator of Narayanganj Zila Parishad Abdul Hai and Police Super Dr Khondokar Mohid Uddin.
Salim Osman said that Bangabandhu had a mission to make Bangladesh a Sonar Bangla. But the conspirators had killed Bangabandhu and the members of his family on August 15, 1975, he said.
He cut birth day cake weighing 95 found and distributed among the guests.
Earlier, the day’s programme began with garlanding the portrait of Bangabandhu at chashara in the morning.
Narayanganj district collectorate, Narayanganj City corporation, Narayanganj District Mukti Joddha Sangsad, BKMEA, Bangladesh Hosiery Association, Narayanganj District Awami League, Jatia Party, different educational institutions and 40 other socio-cultural organizations placed wreaths there.
A children’s rally was bought out from Chashara under the auspices of Narayanganj district administration. The students of educational institutions participated in the rally carrying portrait of Bangabandhu and prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
BSS from Joypurhat reports: The 95th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed in Joypurhat today in a befitting manner.
The district administration, Awami League (AL) and its front organisations, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, District Information Office, Islamic Foundation Bangladesh, different socio-cultural and professional organizations, schools and colleges observed the day with separate programmes.
The programmes include placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu on Shaheed Dr. Abul Kashem Moidan after a children’s rally, art competition, discussion meeting, cultural function, screening of documentary films and a special doa mahfil and prayers on Shishu Academy office premises.
BSS from Jamalpur adds: The 96th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman simultaneously national children day was observed in the district in a befitting manner today.
The days programme included rally, discussion meeting, children gathering, cultural function, painting competition, improved diet to orphanages and milad and doa mahfil.
At morning district administration, police administration, and leaders of different cultural organisations placed floral wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Boishakhi mela field in the town.
A rally also was brought out from Boishakhi Mela field premises in the town led by Alhaj Rezaul Karim Hira, MP.
The rally after parading the main roads ended at public hall premises
where held a discussion meeting. After evening a discussion meeting was held at the AL office in the town with Masum Reza Rahim, President, Town AL in the chair.
Earlier, Bangladesh Chhatra League arranged a drawing competition at Shaheed Minar premises.
A total of 150 students took part in the competition in five categories. Acting President, District AL, Adv Baki Billah distributed prizes among the winners. Md Mukhlesur Rahman Jamalpur.
