Prime Minister’s Energy Advisor Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury has said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a great strategist which was proved through his historic March 7 speech.
“The historic March 7 speech he delivered in a way that the whole nation received a directive to get prepared for the liberation war,” Elahi said.
Tawfiq Elahi said Sheikh Mujib was not present during the Liberation War, but the whole nation fought the war under his leadership.
“But it was very unfortunate, after his assassination in 15th August, 1975, his name was banned by the then regime,” he added.
It was a great inspiration, he told a webinar, organised by the energy and mineral resources division to commemorate the Historic March 7. With the senior secretary of the energy division Mahbub Hossain in the chair, the virtual seminar was also addressed by Petrobangla chairman Nazmul Ahsan, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation chairman ABM Azad, additional secretary of the energy and mineral resources division Helal Uddin, and joint secretary Md Sher Ali. Deputy secretary Mursheda Ferdows conducted the function, reports UNB.
He warned the government officers to remain alert against any such attempt that would again create such a situation.
Mabub Hossain said the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu is a Magna Carta for the world’s oppressed people.
ABM Azad said Bangabandhu had the vision to bring economic liberty through the war of independence.
“So, now we all should work to achieve that goal”, he said.
