Beximco Dhaka will face Gemcon Khulna in the today’s first match of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur. The match begins at 12.30pm.
On the other hand, Fortune Barishal will meet Gazi Group Chattogram in the day’s second match, which starts at 5.30pm at the same venue. The technical committee of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup decided to re-schedule the match timings for the upcoming games, a press release informed on Wednesday. The decision was taken considering the dew factor and foggy weather as the match timings of both the day and night games have been shifted to begin an hour early compared to the previous schedule.
Gazi Group Chattogram led the points table securing 10 points from six matches. Gazi Group Chattogram have already confirmed their play-off berth.
Gemcon Khulna took the second position bagging eight points from seven matches.
Beximco Dhaka took the third spot collecting six points from six outings.
Fortune Barishal and Minister Group Rajshahi jointly took the fourth position earning four points from their respective six and seven matches.
It is Fortune Barishal’s very crucial match as they want to keep their play-off hope alive.
Minister Group Rajshahi have no chance to collect eight points as they have only one match in their hands.
Captain of Fortune Barishal Tamim Iqbal believes they should rectify their mistakes in their bowling department as they want to keep the winning streak.
Gazi Group Chattogram, who confirmed their play-off berth, were on the verge of defeat by Gemcon Khulna in the last game but somehow they registered a three-wicket win.
