The four-storey Bangabandhu Memorial Library was inaugurated in the Bandarban city’s Goroshthan Jame Masjid area on Friday.
State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing opened the library as the chief guest at a function.
Parbatya Zila Parishad Acting Chief Executive Officer M Nurul Absar, Distract Awami League General Secretary Islam Beby and Vice-President Abdur Rahim Chowdhury addressed the function as special guests with District Awami League Organising Secretary Mozammel Huq Bahadur in the chair.
Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing said reading habit essential to build a society.
He urged the students to acquire vast knowledge by reading books from library to play for the welfare of the country.
