The Bangabandhu Asian Senior Men’s Central Zone International Volleyball Championship begins today at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.
Bangladesh Volleyball Federation will arrange the gala volleyball meet.
A total of five countries will take part in the six-day long volleyball competition.
They are: Hosts Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan and Maldives.
Minister for Commerce Tofail Ahmed has acted as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the mega volleyball competition.
To mark the ensuing volleyball meet, a press conference was held at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday. Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) AH Aslam Sunny, Vice-President of BVF Mostafa Kamal, General Secretary of BVF Ashiqur Rahman Miku, Joint-Secretary of BVF Advocate Fazle Rabbi Babul, Joint-Secretary of the Federation Md Azizur Rahman, Coach of Bangladesh National Volleyball team from Iran Ali Poura Aroji were present at the conference.
Today Minister for Commerce Tofail Ahmed will formally open the volleyball competition at 3.00 pm as the chief guest.
