Legendary film actor and dance director Javed starrer his last movie was released four years ago. Later, he didn’t see to act in any new movie because after that released movie the actor became seriously physically ill. He yet not gets recovered from that illness. On Monday, he talked with this correspondent at a homely gossip at his residence in the
capital’s Uttara area where this veteran actor recalled many old days’ memories regarding his acting career.
The actor informed that when he went to India to his dance mentor Sadhu Moharaj he told his nephews that if there was any scope to meet Bangabandhu he wanted to go with them. As Javed’s nephews were involved with the politics of Awami League, so they had regular contact with Bangabandhu during that time. Then Javed got the opportunity to meet Bangabandhu. He went to him to get prayer from him as he could get proper training in dance from Sadhu Moharaj in India. During that time Bangabandhu called him ‘Dilip Kumar of Bengal.’ That time it created a hype among the film-lovers. From that time, Javed was calling ‘Dilip Kumar of Bengal.’
Javed also said that when he was only 14 years old, he left his family in West Pakistan and came to East Pakistan along with his dance mentor Sadhu Moharaj. Then he was residing in Dhaka’s Siddique Bazar area along with his dance mentor. During that time he acted in movie Naya Jindegi opposite Nasima Khan and Anjana. But the movie didn’t get release later. Then he also acted in some movies. But viewers accepted him positively as a hero in Urdu movie Payel, directed by Mustafiz, which was released on January 30 in 1970. Razzak and Shabana also acted in this movie. Basically in this movie, Javed looked like Indian legendary film actor Dilip Kumar.
From 1970 to 1989, Javed was very popular among the heroes. He could dance nicely and also created scope for dancing for the heroine which created dazzling on the screen. Shabana, Babita, Anju Ghosh, Rozian, Sujata, Suchorita, among others, were her heroine in movies.
In movie Nishan, he proved that he was the superstar hero like Ranjan. Not only as a hero, Javed had also engagement as a dance director.
Javed was born in Afghanistan in 1944. Then they moved from Peshawar to Punjab. During childhood, Dilip Kumar was his favourite hero. After 1974, Javed again became busy with acting in Dhallywood.
As a hero, he acted in movies Malka Banu, Onek Din Agey, Shahajada, Rajkumari Chandraban, Sultana Daku, Ajo Bhulini, Kajol Rekha, Shaheb Bibi Golam, Nishan, Bijoyini Sonabhan, Ruper Rani, Chorer Raja, Taz O Talwar, Norom Gorom, Tin Bahadur, Jalim, Chandan Dwiper Rajkonnya, Razia Sultana, Shoti Komola, Baharam Badshah, Aladin Alibaba, Sinbad, among others.
Besides acting, he also worked as a dance director in movies. He has acted in 200 movies till now.
