Bangabandhu dreams about non-communal country free from hunger, poverty: Murad

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hassan on Friday said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had a dream that Bangladesh would be a non-communal Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty.
“Bangabandhu had a dream that Bangladesh would be a non-communal Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty. Soon after independence, he started working towards building a non-communal Bangladesh,” he said.
He was speaking at a function titled ‘Probashe Sharodiyo Durgautsab-2021’ on Birchmount Road in Canada as the chief guest yesterday on the occasion of ‘Toronto Durgabari Jug-purti’, a press release said on Friday.
About the festival, he added that Sarodio Durgautsab is the biggest festival of joy for the Hindu community.
In order to establish peace in the society by suppressing injustice, evil and demonic forces, the Hindu community has been celebrating Durga Puja with great enthusiasm through various rituals and ceremonies, he said.
During the time, general secretary of the Puja Celebration Committee Hira Lal Pal showed the Puja-mandap to the state minister.
Murad further said that people are reaping benefits of Digital Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
By taking advantage of information technology and under the strong and visionary leadership of the worthy daughter of the Father of the Nation, the government will build the ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Bangabandhu, he hoped.
