BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia said he (Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman) did not want the liberation war. He wanted to be the Prime Minister of the then Pakistan. So he did not declare of the independence.
The BNP Chief came up with the statement while exchanging views with delegation of Buddhist Community on her Gulshan political office in the capital on Saturday night.
Khaleda Zia also demanded that it is Ziaur Rahman who announced the independence of the country during the liberation war in 1971.
Khaleda alleged that government’s people are involved in the recent killings carried out across the country.
