Bangabandhu BPL Cricket Shakib does it for Barishal to beat Comilla

Fortune Barishal beat Comilla Victorians by 32 runs in their match of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Sent into bat first, Barishal piled up a satisfactory 155 for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then, restricted Comilla to 123 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
Barishal had a good start with two openers Munim Shahriar and Chris Gayle put on together 32 runs in the opening stand before Gayle (10) was caught at the backward point by Sumon Khan off Tanvir Islam.
After Gayle’s dismissal, one-down Najmul Hossain Shanto arrived at the crease but he could stay for a short period as he (1) was caught by Mominul Haque off Tanvir Islam when Barishal’s score was 48 for the loss of two wickets.
After Shanto’s departure, Munim Shahriar was caught at the mid-on by Imrul Kayes off Moeen Ali when Barishal’s total was 69 for the loss of three wickets.
Munim Shahriar hit a superb 45. His 25-ball innings was belted with three sixes and four fours.
After Shahriar’s dismissal, Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy contributed together 67 runs for the fourth wicket partnership before Shakib Al Hasan was caught at the long-on by Mominul Haque off Karim Janat when Barishal’s score was 136 for the loss of four wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan hit a sparkle 50. His 37-ball innings was ornamented with four fours and two sixes. Later, Shakib Al Hasan bagged two wickets giving 20 runs. Shakib was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
After Shakib’s departure, Dwayne Bravo (10) was caught at the cover by Imrul Kayes off Mustafizur Rahman when Barishal’s total was 149 for the loss of five wickets.
Towhid remained unbeaten with 31. He hit two fours in his 37-ball knock.
Tanvir Islam bagged two wickets in the space of 22 runs, while Karim Janat, Moeen Ali and Mustafizur Rahman took one wicket each for six, 21 and 30 runs respectively.
Later, batters of Comilla Victorians failed to build any notable partnership. They lost their wickets in regular intervals.
One-down Mominul Haque fought back making a run-a-ball 30 with three fours.
Nayeem Hasan grabbed three wickets at the cost of 29 runs, while Dwayne Bravo bagged two wickets instead of 29 runs and Najmul Hossain Shanto took one wicket for five runs.
