State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Murad Hassan said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh and the Awami League (AL) are tied to the same thread.
“Bangabandhu, Bangladesh and Awami League are inseparable and synonymous,” he said while addressing a discussion organized by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote on Tuesday at the Jatiya Press Club here on the occasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of AL.
Bangladesh Awami League is at the root of all the development and struggle of the Bengali nation, Murad said adding it is not only a political party rather it is the soul of all Bengalis.
Through the tireless hard work and dedication of Bangabandhu, the Awami League has become a party of the masses across the country and great freedom has been achieved under the leadership of the Awami League, he added.
Once again, Bangabandhu’s daughter, people-friendly leader and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has revived Bangladesh from many difficulties in the pro-independence period and with the help of the 72-year-old party, Bangladesh is rapidly advancing on the highway of development, he continued.
With Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Presidium member and Actor Danny Sidak in the chair, the programme was attended, among others, by Dhaka City South unit of Awami League Vice-President Hedayetul Islam Swapan.
