City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said , Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the inspiration for economic freedom in the 3rd world.
He was addressing the two -day long programess of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote, Chittagong district unit arranged at Chittagong Theatre Hall on Friday evening as Chief Guest.
Mayor in his brief deliberations said Bangabandhu was a ideal great man and work for the rights of the oppressed society and his ideality should be preserved among the new generations.
He said disrespect and bad remarks on this great leader is a serious and unpardonable crime and the persons allegedly involved with such crimes will have to face before the laws of the land.
First vice president of BGMEA Moinuddin AhmedMinto was the keynote speaker in the programs of birth anniversary of Bangabandu.
Convenor of Anniversary Celebration Committee Sumon Devnath presided it. Among others, General secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote , Chittagong Unit Khorshed Alam, Ward Councilor HM Sohel, JL member Abdul Mannan Ferdous, Raihan Yousuf, ward councilor Salimullah Bachchu, Ward councilor Shaibal Das Sumon, Member Secretary SheikhMujib Ahmed, Chief Coordinator Liton Roy Chowdhury spoke on the occasion, sources said.
