Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman always practiced constitutional, democratic and election-oriented politics.
“Bangabandhu kept the way open for discussion in all situations. People were his main tool,” he said this on Thursday while speaking at a virtual discussion as the chief guest marking the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said a press release.
Bangladesh Steel And Engineering Corporation (BSEC) organised the discussion.
Industries Secretary KM Ali Azam presided over the discussion.
Humayun said Bangabandhu provided special focus on the development of small and cottage industries.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder was the special guest at the discussion while Chief Coordinator of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury delivered the key note speech.
Kamal Ahmed Mojumder said Bangabandhu sowed the seeds of independence in the region by establishing Bangladesh Chhatra League and Bangladesh Awami League.
Despite the opposition of many experienced leaders, Bangabandhu led the nation on the path of independence through the 6-point declaration, he added.
Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury said Bangabandhu is the name of a deep emotion and the name of love.
“When Bangabandhu was addressing the nation on March 7 at Suhrawardy Udyan, Bangabandhu was not a person, he was a Bengali nation,” he
added.
He said that after independence, war-torn Bangladesh woke up like a phoenix under the direction of Bangabandhu.
