The Education Ministry is determined to check question paper leakage and forgery in the examination halls during the public examinations at any cost with a view to restoring its image and ensure quality education at every level, the ministry source said.
The Ministry has also taken many initiatives to achieve its goal.
Use of mobile phones, especially by students, by teachers and by employees who are directly involved with the examination has been prohibited.
Only the secretary of the centre could use a normal phone to communicate with the other teachers to run the examinations smoothly, the Ministry took the decision from Natioonal Monitoring and Law and Order Affairs meeting on Tuesday.
Its direction about using mobile phone will be implemented from the upcoming Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC), Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Dakhil, and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations.
The Ministry has also asked students to reach at the examination halls before half-an-hour of the examination. Otherwise, no student will be allowed to enter the examination halls after the timeframe.
Sources said, the top bosses of the ministry are passing very embarrassing time as they have failed to check question paper leakage at every public examination. Even they failed to stop forgery during the examination.
“The Ministry is in image crisis now. It wants to overcome the bad reputation. That is why there is no way but to take strict initiative,” an official of the Ministry told The New Nation wishing anonymity.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said, “We must take stern action against those persons who will try to do irregularities ahead of any public examination.”
Secretary (Secondary and Higher Education Division) of the ministry Md Sohrab Hossain said it is our challenge to check question paper leakage. “I think it is not impossible to stop all irregularities during the public examination,” he said.
The Secretary also emphasised on cancellation of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) as it creates environment irregularities in the examination halls.
The JSC and JDC Examinations-2017 will begin from November 1 across the country.
