Ban on student politics demanded

Speakers in a seminar have criticized the student politics, mainly Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), for their recent controversial activities in educational dormitories, including Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
They have also demanded the ban of BCL and some other students organizations politics in university and college premises for their heinous acts in the name of students politics.  
Sam Terry, leader of Labor Party in UK, said, “Past few killings in Bangladesh, including the murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad, have not desirable for anyone.”
He said, “The current situation of student politics in Bangladesh, referring to student politics in Britain, said it was important to change this kind of vengeful mentality of student organizations. Otherwise the student politics, mainly BCL should be stopped.”
Former South Asian Affairs Director Abbas Fayez said that operating a country
autonomously is not pleasant for any country.
The speakers made the remark in international seminar titled ‘human rights situation, freedom of speech and democracy” chaired by Lord Korban Hussein, in the House of Lords in the Upper House of the British Parliament on Tuesday night.
 The seminar was arranged under the leadership of Ataullah Farooq, the founder of Voice for Bangladesh, the dominant leader of the Labor Party, Sam Terry of the European Commission UK.
 Bangladesh Students Union Former Convener SH Sohag, Voice for Bangladesh Head of Communication Noor Hossain, Manzoor Hasan Paltu and Shamima Akhter, Barristers Nishat Khushbu, Anjana Alam, Luna Sabira, Lutfar Rahman (Lincoln), Abul Hossain Nizam, Habibur Rahman, Md. Mujahid, Khalid (Pavel), Ashiqul Islam, Jamal Mia, Delwar hossain, Saidur Rahman Chowdhury, Zahidul Hossain, Arif Moinul Hossain, among others delegates, were present in the event.
