Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has plan to bar hawkers from selling their items in public buses in the city in a bid to stop the doping incidents.
“Most of the doping cases occur in public buses and that’s why law enforcers are planning to ban hawking on public buses,” Abdul Baten, Joint Commissioner of Detective Branch (DB) of Police, said at a press briefing at DMP Media Centre on Thursday.
The decision will be enforced after a discussion in the issue with transport owners, workers and leaders, the police official said.
