They said although they had requested the PDB authorities several times to remove the bamboo poles but PDB is yet to take any step.
The PDB had provided them electricity meters one year ago and they have been paying bills regularly, they added.
Md. Masud, councilor of Khagrachhari Municipality said he had informed the matters to PDB authorities with a request to set standard electricity poles removing the bamboo poles. But PDB yet to settle the issue.
He expresses deep concerned and said it might causes huge losses to life and properties during rainy reasons.
When contacted, Khagrachhari PDB Chief Engineer Kamal Uddin admitted that supplying electricity using bamboo poles is a clear violation of existing rules.
Replying to a query, he said the electricity supplier and user are both equal offenders. Effective measures will be taken in this regard as soon as possible.
