Goods made of bamboo is very familiar for the people of this region. More or less every family is using bamboo goods in the town or village of northern region including Nilphamari district. Accordingly the bamboo maker has changed their life by making different kinds of bamboo goods and retail at the market.
On the other hand, the wholesalers are buying it locally for imported these to the different districts.
When contacted with a bamboo goods maker of the district said, they are carrying this profession as it is a profitable business and it is their traditional profession. Almost thousands of bamboo makers are self-reliant in the area with this profession. They are now self-reliant and self -sufficient. Some whole sellers of the district said, said they buying the bamboo goods locally and imported to the different districts in order to achieve more profit. Sometime it is the most cumbrous, when market price became low, though according to them they have improved their life by this business.
However, the profession is traditional. Thousands of people are making goods with bamboo and they have become self-reliant by this profession as it is a most profitable business.
They are changing their life-style gradually. They got financial support from government or non-governmental organizations for increasing their traditional business. They want more co-operations from the government for running and increasing their business. They also said as this is a traditional business and carries the heritage of Bangladesh and that is why they are carrying this business from their heart. Different products are made from bamboo .
