Shooter Abdullah Hel Baki will get cash award of Taka 12 lacs for winning silver medal in his 10m Air Rifle shooting event in Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
Bangladesh Shooting Federation secretary general Intekhabul Hamid Opu told BSS that as per the pre-pledge Baki will get cash prize of Taka 12 lacs – seven lacs from shooting federation and Taka five lacs from Bangladesh Olympic Association — for winning silver medal.
He said: “The shooters were mentally intensified and their moral boosted further after Bakis’s success today … we are taking India as our main rival though Australia won the gold today and I would like to repeat that apart from India, Australia, England and Singapore have come to compete in the Games with a good preparation.”
