The government has planned to provide Baishakhi and Victory Day allowances for freedom fighters from the next fiscal year.
“Boishakhi allowances and the Victory Day allowances will be provided to freedom fighters from the next fiscal year,” said Finance Minister AMA Muhith while placing the national budget for 2018-19 fiscal on Thursday.
The government has planned to provide Baishakhi and Victory Day allowances for freedom fighters from the next fiscal year.
“Boishakhi allowances and the Victory Day allowances will be provided to freedom fighters from the next fiscal year,” said Finance Minister AMA Muhith while placing the national budget for 2018-19 fiscal on Thursday.
He said, construction of Muktijoddha Complexes is underway at district and upazila levels across the country for the improvement of the socio-economic status of freedom fighters.
Of them, construction works on complexes in 57 districts have already been completed.
“We’ve taken initiatives to provide free medical treatment to freedom fighters in all government hospitals and 16 specialized hospitals in the country,” he added.
Under “the construction of homes for the landless and destitute or insolvent freedom fighters” project, the construction work on 2,852 units has been completed while additional 119 units are under construction, he added.
