A three day-long Baishakhi festival ended at Islamic University (IU) on Monday. On the concluding day, lathikhela (stick game) was held at football playground in the morning where IU VC Professor Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari was present as the chief guest.
University Pro-VC Professor Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Professor Dr M Selim Toha, Acting Registrar SM Abdul Latif, teachers, students and officials were present at the event.
A colorful procession, inaugural ceremony of Baishakhi festival, science fair and cultural function were held on the Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla new year.
On the 2nd day, a cultural function was held at Bangla Mancha with the participants of students of 33 departments.
