The three-day fourth Baishakhi Cup Golf Tournament-2015 ended through the final rounds held at the Golf Ground and prize-giving ceremony at the auditorium of Rangpur Cantonment on Saturday.
The tournament was sponsored by the MK Traders, a business institution that supplies medical and surgical goods to the northern Bangladesh.
A total of 71 golfers took part in the males, females, junior and sub-junior categories in the three-day tournament that was launched on April 30 last at Rangpur Golf Ground in Rangpur Cantonment.
The final rounds were held at the Golf Ground of Rangpur Cantonment followed by the colourful prize-giving ceremony and colourful cultural functions.
Acting Commander of 66 Infantry Division Brigadier General Abu Sayeed Mohammad Ali attended the inaugural and concluding ceremonies as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.
In the senior male group, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Shah Faruk Hassan secured the first position while Brigadier General AKM Shamsuddin secured second position and Brigadier General Mamun Mostaki won the nearest two-pin.
Golfer Colonel Khan Feroz Ahmed secured the first position and Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Shamim Farhad became the runner up in the nine-hole event.
Golfer Major Ashrafuzzaman become the second best gross champion, Brigadier General Chowdhury Mohammad Azizul Haque was awarded for maximum par,
Lieutenant Colonel Mostafa for minimum par and Brigadier General Mohammad Ali for the longest drive.
In the Female Group, Mrs. Nasrine Jahan Bobby and Mrs. Nazmun Nahar secured
the first and second position to become the champion and runner up respectively.
Abdur Rahman and Samiha came out as the champion and runner up in the Junior Group while Miss Farhan and Nawshin became the champion and runner up in the Sub-junior group respectively.
The prize-giving ceremony was followed by a colourful cultural function at the same venue where music, songs and dances were presented.
