The three-day fifth “MK Traders Baishakhi Golf Tournament-2016” kicked off at a colourful ceremony on Friday morning on the Golf Ground of Rangpur Cantonment in the city.
The tournament is being sponsored by the MK Traders, a business institution that supplies medical and surgical goods to the northern Bangladesh.
More than 100 contestants including males, females, junior and sub-junior golfers have been participating in the gents, ladies, junior and sub-junior groups of the three-day tournament.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division, Rangpur Area Commander and President of Rangpur Golf Club Major General Md. Masud Razzaque, ndc, afwc, psc, formally inaugurated the tournament by taking TEE-OFF shot as the chief guest.
Owner of the MK Traders and renowned businessman Manjur Ahmed Azad, officials of Rangpur Golf Club, participating golfers and local journalists, were present, among others, attended the inaugural ceremony.
