Court Correspondent :
A Dhaka court yesterday (Monday) passed order to interrogate BNP Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at the jail gate in a case filed with Khilgaon Police Station of the city in connection with sabotage.
Magistrate Shamsul Arefin of the
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court also rejected the remand plea of the prosecution and the bail petition of the defence.
Earlier, the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case sought a seven-day remand to interrogate the BNP leader in the case. On the other hand, Advocate Sanaullah Mia and some other lawyers moved a bail petition rejecting the remand plea.
The case was filed in connection with violence and sabotage during the continuous shutdown and blockade sponsored by the BNP-led 20-party alliance on January 30.
