Court Correspondent :The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Thursday passed order allowing police to interrogate BNP leaders Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Shamsuzzaman Dudu at the jail gate, rejecting remand pleas.Magistrate Imdadul Haque of the CMM Court issued the order.on Thursday. Earlier, police sought a 27-day remand to grill BNP Joint-Secretary General Rizvi in three cases filed with Paltan and Motijheel Police Stations.The police also sought remand to quiz BNP Chairperson’s adviser Dudu for 60 days in six cases filed with Paltan Police Station. All the cases were lodged for creating violence during BNP’s movement in January.After hearing on the petitions, the court rejected the pleas of police, directing to quiz the two BNP leaders at the jail gate within three days.Public Prosecutor Abdullah Abu appeared on behalf of the prosecution while Advocate Zainal Abedin Mesbah represented the defence. Rizvi was arrested from Gulshan in the city on January 30 while Dudu was arrested from Mirpur, Dhaka on January 11. He was on remand for 15 days from January 12 in four cases. On completion of the remand, on Febraury 12, he was sent to the jail. Rizvi was on 28 days’ remand from February 1 and on completion of the remand he was also sent to the jail.
